This charming 2-year-old, 15 lb neutered male is ready to find his forever home! Basil may be small in size, but he has a heart full of love and loyalty.
Basil is house-trained, crate-trained, and walks beautifully on a leash. He rarely barks—only when someone's at the door—and isn't nippy, making him an ideal companion for a calm home. Like many small dogs, he can be a bit skittish at first and may dart away when approached but give him a little space and he'll come right to you for pets and cuddles.
He gets a bit nervous around men and may give a gentle growl to let them know he's uncomfortable—but he shows no aggression and will still accept affection. Basil was found as a stray, so we don't know what his early life was like, but we do know that he's incredibly grateful to be safe and loved now.
Basil Hayden would thrive in a patient, understanding home where he can build trust at his own pace. Once he's comfortable, he's a loving and loyal little buddy who just wants to be near his people.
