So You Want To Adopt Your New Best Friend

Wags Rescue will consider adoptive families in Bucks and Montgomery County and the immediate surrounding areas. This is simply due to logistics and distance of travel for our volunteers. Occasionally on a case-by-case basis, Wags may consider adopting outside of these areas. Our goal is to make the best rescue match taking into consideration the dogs background and your family's needs. Every dog is different: personality, temperament, energy, comfort with kids and other animals, medical needs and more. We take all these factors into consideration when making a furever-home match. We are very careful about the placements we make. We do our best to match the right dog with the right adoptive home because we want this to be the pet's furever home. We reserve the right to decline any application if we feel the dogs health, safety or wellbeing may be at risk.

We want to match our dogs with the best fit furever family.

We will review all applications for all the information requested.

  • If we find responses are not as truthful and honest as possible, we will decline your application.
  • If you have pets that are not up to date and properly vaccinated, we will decline your application. This includes cats who are kept indoors at all times.
  • If you have less than a satisfactory vet reference and have pets that are not spayed/neutered, your application will be declined.
  • If you have a vet reference, we will call so please let them know to release information to Wags Rescue.
  • If you do not have a vet reference, we require a minimum of 2 non-family personal references

OUR PROCESS

01

Apply

We appreciate you wanting to bring a dog into your home. In order for us to find the right pet for you, we need you to submit an adoption application.

02

Review

We will review your application upon receipt. We will contact you shortly after to review. Please be prepared if we have any questions or concerns, that we may need clarity on. Occasionally, home visits may be required.

03

Approval

Once your application review is complete, a Wags Rescue volunteer will contact you and give you information regarding a General Approval or if a specific dog was applied for, contact info for that dogs foster family.

04

Finding Your Pet

Once approved to adopt, the search for your dog begins. Our Application Processors will begin to evaluate pets currently in our foster care program who may be a good fit for you and your family. We may also give you information about our next Meet & Greet Event to connect you with some adoptables in person.
