Nova has been in foster with us for a month and a half and now that we've gotten to know her even better, it's time for an update. She continues to be a sweet and happy girl and is an easy dog (house trained, crate trained, non-destructive). Over the course of just a few weeks, Nova has adjusted to our home and come to love everyone in the family, including the man in the household. Treats are a must to convince her life is good! The 3-3-3 rule definitely applies here - she is much more comfortable by week 3 compared to her first days here and will continue to blossom with time. She loves food and will drool with anticipation at mealtimes – she is willing to do a lot for treats. She's knows sit, down, touch, look, come, and crate. Nova has learned to be very comfortable in her crate at night and when we're out and is enjoying walks around the neighborhood. Here are a few of her other likes and dislikes:
Likes: food (no veggies or fruit please, just the good stuff), relaxing on the couch (fleece blankets & pillows are a must), snuggling and being pet (she will tell you how much she loves it), playing with her lamb chop squeaky toy, sunbathing outside, being part of the family, wagging her tail so hard it hits everything around her (people, dogs, everything in the house)
Dislikes: early morning jogs (she politely went twice, and let me know never again – walking is ok though), pooping on leash (it can be a test of wills, but she will do it when she's comfortable)

Meet Nova! Nova is a one year old low rider weighing 45 lbs. While she had a rough start in life, she's trying not to let that define her and is ready to start living her best life. Nova is the happiest girl - her tail never stops wagging and she has so much love to give. With her puppy days behind her, Nova is a medium energy girl who is up for some light playing or just relaxing on the couch. More than anything, Nova wants to be with her people and will follow her favorite person around the house. She is house trained and good in the crate though she does not love the crate. She is well-mannered in the house and easily corrected. She currently lives with children and dogs and is good with everyone. However, Nova came from an abusive household and is nervous with men. She can be won over with treats and calm consistency but she will need time to adjust. Your patience will be rewarded by the love and devotion of this sweet dog (and her tail wagging wiggly body).
