Marcia is a very shy and timid pup. She was found in a hoarding situation and very skittish because of it. She is slow to trust both human and furry friends, but if left to her own devices, her puppy curiousness takes over and she will explore her surroundings.
Marcia's forever family will need to be very understanding of her fearful behaviors. She will need to be allowed to approach on her terms and will need a fenced yard for bathroom breaks - she is not able to walk on the leash at this time due to her nervousness. She would do best in a home with no small children due to the sudden movements and loud noises that they sometimes bring with them. A resident dog friend (medium to small sized) to help her grow her confidence would be best.
Once she acclimated to her foster home, she has become affectionate and playful – but it has taken a full week to gain her trust.
Marcia is working on crate training, although if given her choice, she'd prefer to stay on the couch. She is working on potty training and is doing better every day - but her forever family needs to remember that this will be a process - she's used to using her house as her bathroom after all!
