I've found my furever family!

Mama 7 has a sad story: she was the 7th dog counted in a hoarding situation of dozens of dogs (34 in all!). She and her two puppies thankfully found rescue and her pups were adopted! Now it's 7's turn. You'd never guess that this sweetheart endured what she has (you can see how skinny she is in the photo with her pups - the person responsible has been arrested in a watershed case in Georgia), as she is so loving and affectionate. Once she trusts you (treats help!), she will crawl into your lap and practically try to get into your pockets! 

 

She enjoys long walks full of sniffs, and is doing pretty well on leash considering she was probably never on one before. She does especially well with a padded harness and will need a little leash training. She adores other dogs and would do best with a playmate who can match her energy (she is not off-the-wall bonkers but she does enjoy running in the yard and will instigate proper play with a willing participant; the retired seniors in her foster home are not feeling it lol). She is cat tolerant and mostly ignores the house felines. She is a bit skittish with new humans and can startle at loud noises, as one might expect from a traumatized animal, but that will pass in time and she quickly realizes that she is now safe and loved. She is completely housebroken and has had no accidents in her foster home. She tolerates being crated but much prefers to be near her people (or dogs) and is trustworthy overnight. She loooves to snooze on the couch! 7 is about 3 years old, weighs about 50 lbs and is spayed - no more puppies for this Mama! Truly, to know 7 is to love her. She will be a stupendous family dog for some lucky adopter!
