Meet Alvin, the gentle hound who will snuggle his way into your heart. Like many dogs down south, Alvin was found in a very sad condition. He was emaciated, in pain and unable to walk. His pelvis was shattered and he needed a left hip repair. He has had his surgery and is now in recovery, doing very well. He is getting around just fine with a little hobble and he's putting more weight on that back leg every day. He still needs to put on some weight, which won't be a problem because he loves food :).
Alvin is an absolute sweetheart. Despite all he's been through, he loves people. He is timid and scared at first in new surroundings but warms up quickly. He has been friendly with all the other dogs he's met, and respects their distance. Even though he is still considered a puppy at age one, he is a very low energy dog. (This could however change as he continues to heal).
Doggy beds (and naps) are his absolute favorite! He loves soft doggy beds so much that he'll drag them near each other :). And toys! Ohhh, he loves them too and will bring them all to his bed space. It's adorable to see him so happy to learn about the good stuff in life, which he probably never had before.
He's working on potty training and promises to continue happily shaking his tail when hearing "good boy!"
