Meet Betsy-Tacy, a work in progress! This 6 year old little girl was dumped in a remote area of North Carolina, where she had to fend for herself for an unknown amount of time. She survived on dirt, stones, bits of plastic , or anything else she was able to find to eat. When she was rescued, she was skin and bones, heart worm positive, and pregnant. This is the life of a dumped dog. Betsy has been with us since early July, and has made great progress. Unfortunately her puppy didn’t survive, but she has. She will allow limited contact, and has shown no signs of aggression. She adores children, and tolerates them the best. Betsy is working on house training, and with frequent trips outside, does well. Betsy will require an adopter who is tolerant, understanding, and willing to accept her as she is. She has gotten better since she has been here, and needs a lot of support, care, and love to continue her journey to being a great companion.
