Suspicious minds say I ain’t nothing but a hound dog, but I just want to be your teddy bear. Once you meet me, you can’t help falling in love with my snuggleliness. I have a burning love for all people and am dog friendly. I didn’t even get all shook up when I met a cat.
Elvis is a one year old beagle hound mix weighing approximately 31lbs. He was an owner surrender and so far has been doing well with going outside to do his business as long as you follow his cues. He sings the jailhouse rock when first put in a crate but is slowly getting used to it. He enjoys being outside exploring the yard. He was not familiar with a leash so we are working on getting him used to walking around the neighborhood. He loves to stop and sniff as hounds do, but doesn’t pull and stays pretty much next to us.
Inside Elvis just wants to be by his people, following you around or laying by your side and in your lap. He enjoys playing with toys and bones and running away with the ball.
Elvis is the rare unicorn in rescue world who is heartworm negative. He is up to date on all vaccinations and has been neutered.
So if you’re lonesome tonight, fill out the application, put on your blue suede shoes (or flip flops, he’s not particular) and come meet Elvis. Guaranteed there will be no blue Christmases in your future.
