Gabby has made amazing strides during the month in her foster home. She has made it to the first floor and is getting more comfortable with her foster Dad (although she is just now slowly warming up to him with tail wags and kisses). Gabby loves her foster Mom best, and enjoys pets, belly rubs, and hugs. She has two times when she has extra energy for zoomies with the resident dog - after breakfast and before bedtime. She prefers to hang out in her crate, and is not a couch-loving lap dog. She does sleep in her crate at night and stays peacefully in her crate when her foster family goes to work and school. She is a sweetie, and will give you her paw to hold and will tell you she loves you by "petting" your arm and giving kisses. She gets very excited about meals, breakfast especially, and will do 360° spins and hop all over to celebrate. She is still very apprehensive of loud noises and sudden movement, so this will be something to be mindful of. Gabby would do best in a home with an easy-going, friendly dog to play and run around with. She loves the resident cat and wants to be friends with her, even if the cat doesn't feel the same way. In terms of her ideal people - a house with a single woman or mostly female household is in her best interest due to her fear of men. Otherwise, the men in the house will have to be patient and understanding of her fear and give her space and time to understand they're her friend. If you need a friend in your life who you can adore - and who will adore you back - Gabby's your girl!
Gabby is a 2 year old Brindle beauty of a mutt that originally came from Georgia. She's short and squat and sweet as can be. Gabby is taking time to adjust to her new surroundings and is very hesitant of her new digs. She's currently decided that her foster parents' bedroom on the 2nd floor is a good place to chill, and is just beginning to get comfortable hanging out on the 1st floor. Her foster family is going to be working diligently on helping her get adjusted to home life. She is fearful of men and as a result is very cautious around them. Whoever decides to make Gabby their forever friend will need to be patient and dedicated in continuing her training. She will reward your efforts with her attention and lots of sniffs. There's no dog quite like our gorgeous Gabby! If you're interested in meeting Gabby, please fill out an application with Wags today.
