Meet my new Foster! This petite (23 lbs), senior lady enjoyed living with her human mom and dad for the last 10 years. She was adopted from Wags when about a year old. She's been cherished, loved and spoiled in the best ways for all her life with them. But just as she has aged, so have they and now they have to go to assisted living, and unfortunately, she can't go with them to their new home. They are heartbroken about having to leave her. I can understand why! In the few weeks she's been with me I've fallen in love with her somewhat aloof but sweet and gentle nature. She's never been crated, but has never upset or chewed anything in the house. She hardly ever barks, and I have never heard a howl (she IS a hound mix so that's unusual) out of her. She has the shape of a small greyhound and most people ask me if she is, but without a DNA test, who knows? She LOVES being outside and goes from sunny to shady spots in my yard and just basks in the delightful weather we've been having. In the house, she mainly goes from dog bed to dog bed (I have 3 of them) and naps. She's not a cuddlebug, and she's not going to play fetch or catch with you but she will lure you in with her dreamy eyes when she comes up to you for head scritches. She walks nicely on a leash, gets along with other dogs,,,mainly by ignoring them unless they try to jump on her, and likes the attention of little ones. Her Wags name originally was Marianne Faithful 11 years ago, but she has been known as, and recognizes, Ginger as her moniker. She is very much on the thin side, but I'm told that is part of her breed as hounds age. If you're looking for a VERY chill dog, Ginger may be just the one! Available through wagsrescue.org KL #5254
