Foster mom can't tell if Margaret is a perfect name or a misleading name for this wonderful, loving senior pup. She is so perfectly behaved and so generally friendly that it seems a good fit. But sometimes she gets silly and even a little adorably riled up to play with other dogs that she seems more like a Maggie in those moments!
Margaret is an approximately 9 years old yellow lab. She was found as a stray, served her hold time at the shelter and was rescued and brought up from North Carolina.
Margaret is wonderfully house trained, quiet in the home, occasionally barks when exciting things happen on the street outside the backyard. Backyard. And gets along nicely with other dogs. She has been very respectful of the Foster host cat, but she may be a little bit confused about cats in general.
People and dogs she fully gets. While Margaret is significantly overweight, she does manage multiple stairs in and out of the house. But she is unlikely to go to a second floor. It will be important for her forever home to continue her weight loss and body transformation journey to get her in her best condition.
Margaret walks fine on a leash. And should gradually increase her step count. She looks forward to continuing this care routine with her forever family!
