Parker has been in his foster home for almost three months. He has settled into his routine and enjoys the company of the other dogs. He’s an obedient and smart guy who listens to commands and generally wants to please his person. His appetite is great and he never misses a meal. His favorite parts of the day are patrolling the fenced yard and catching some rays, laying in the grass.

Hi there! My name is Parker and I’m looking for a new forever home. I’m a 7 year old, extra-large, neutered boy, and if I had to guess I’m probably a german shepherd mix. Through no fault of my own, I find myself looking for a new family and if I say so myself, I’m pretty awesome. Here comes some bragging - I’m told I’m very handsome and have large brown eyes which when I turn on the smoulder, leaves people powerless to turn over their treats and snacks. I weigh around 90lbs and could maybe lose a few but overall I’m just a big, solid, healthy guy. Word on the street is that I’m housebroken and I’m proud to say I have had no accidents in my new foster home. I’m used to being leash walked to do my business but I’m enjoying the freedom of a fenced yard at my foster home. I also like going to the dog park. I’m going to be a little controversial here - I think cats are yucky. I also don’t like young dog energy and can bully them a little when they’re too much but I generally love other dogs, even small adult dogs just so long as they’re not puppies or young crazy adults. My ideal family will have older kids, around 12+. I’m pretty gentle but given my large size, no small kids would be best for me. The way to my heart is through food and treats and I have a great appetite. I’ve been trained not to get on the furniture or bed. I have my own beds and I like them just fine. I’m up to date with all my shots and although I don’t love going to the vet, I’m a good boy when I have to go. I also know the important commands - down, come, leave it and sit. I can pull a little on a leash but a gentle leader harness works great with me. I had a family who loved me very much and gave me a great foundation. Although that situation has changed, I have so much love and companionship to offer. I’m still a little out of sorts from the recent changes but I’m feeling a little better each day and I know soon I’ll have a new family to love and protect. I’m available through wagsrescue.org and look forward to meeting you!
