River is actually a 1 year old mix breed (Sheltie/Spanial--is best guess but no guarantees). He is a neutered male who found himself and his 7 (litter mates---maybe not but all sweet dogs stuck in 3 kennels at a high kill shelter inWV)relatives with 2 days to live because the shelter was over crowded. Wags agreed to take River and his 7 friends. River can be a little nervous of new people and would do best in a home with another nice little dog. If you don't have one, he would suggest adopting him and his sister, Lana. River has no concept of personal space and when you are his person, he will want to be very close to you. Because of this, River is not recommended for someone who is likely to trip over a small black dog. How River feels about children is not known at this time and because he is a bit nervous, he is not recommended for small children. River is a happy boy and brightens a room when he is in it. He is doing well with his house manners. He doesn't quite get why dining room chairs are not for dogs and he is really cute when he sits on them. If he sounds like your kinda boy or you are looking for 2 fluffy dogs, River or River and Lana would be the perfect pair.
