Sue Ellen is so nice she had to be named twice! She is a 1 year old Shepherd mix, with lovely amber eyes and a dense, soft, double coat. This lovely lady will need to be in a home that can see to her high maintenance grooming needs (to prevent tangles and matted fur). On the plus side, she is very good for her 3-4 times a week brushing sessions and loves lounging during her "spa" time. Sue Ellen arrived to PA from GA as an owner surrender situation, and while we don't know the circumstances surrounding that decision, she was obviously well loved and well behaved as she is friendly to everyone she meets (people of all ages, dogs, even the resident cat at her foster pad!). Sue Ellen does have a prey drive, and will alert you to squirrels, deer, or other critters, bouncing after them along the fence line. She does greet you by bouncing and jumping, which can scare little ones, but with proper training this can be addressed. She knows Sit, Stay, and Down, and will probably be a quick learner for any other commands you may wish to teach. She loves to play with her foster sister (Gabby). Sue Ellen sleeps peacefully in her crate at night.  Sue Ellen will do best in an environment where she can be more active, and ideally have a buddy to hang out with. She is a "people" dog, and loves to be with her foster family and the other dogs. If you're looking for a cozy companion to go through life with, please consider adding Sue Ellen to your family.
