Zinnia is around 1.5 years old and we believe she is a black Lab/Shepherd mix. She's currently at a healthy weight of around 80 lbs. She is friendly with people of all ages, and especially loves kids. She lives in a foster home with a resident dog and resident cat, both of whom she loves. Like most Labs, she is food motivated, and enjoys counter surfing given the opportunity. For this reason, she is fed in a separate, closed off area so she doesn't get a second breakfast or dinner by stealing food from the resident dog. While Zinnia is OK with being crated overnight, she would prefer to not be crated for long periods of time, and would do best in a home where she can be out with her people and be a member of the family. She is very loving, and will show her love by showing you her belly for tummy rubs, leaning against your legs, or walking over your lap and flopping down so she can be cuddled and held like a baby. She walks well on leash and enjoys getting out in the fresh air for short walks. If you are looking for a dog to be your companion and snuggle by your side, Zinnia is your girl!

Zinnia is a 1.5 y/o  70 lb female black lab who was brought to PA from NC. This sweet Southern belle is very affectionate and her favorite place to be is anywhere you are. Her current foster home includes an older child, friendly resident dog, and a resident cat who has an enclosed space in the house, and is doing well with all members of the family. She sleeps through the night in her crate, and is learning to use bells to indicate when she needs to go out. She is still learning how to be a house dog and will need to continue training around not jumping on people as well as taking treats and food gently. She does have a prey drive, so a family with cats or other small animals who have run of the house is not ideal. Additionally, a home with older children is recommended as she is overexuberant for small children. With continued, consistent training and a loving home, Zinnia will truly blossom.
